MathServ:
A community of Math Lab Directors, Professors, Teachers, and other Mathematical Professionals
Purpose:
To encourage the development of quality math services such as Math Labs, tutor and TA programs, and testing services that will enhance and support math departments at Colleges, Universities, and High Schools.
Background:
The ground breaking conference, "Math Labs: Where Students Count" at Bowling Green State University in October of 2005, brought together a community of professionals interested in providing quality math services for students at the university level. During the conference, materials and ideas were shared and a new community was launched. We have found that ongoing communication and sharing of resources is invaluable to those starting and improving their math services. Communication and sharing of these ideas is facilitated through conferences, a listserv, and this resource web site. High School professionals have also joined in these discussions and networking has proven valuable at this level as well. |
